Holmes Regional Medical Center

Kirsten Black is the first CCLS hired to start the child life program at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL. She is based in the new pediatric emergency room, while also covering pediatric inpatients and pediatric surgical services. In college, Kirsten held the coveted desk clerk position at Wildcat Lodge, the residence hall for the men’s basketball team at the University of Kentucky when the team won the National Championship in 1996.

Melody Harris, CCLS
Studer Family Children’s Hospital
Melody works at Studer Family Children’s Hospital in Pensacola, FL providing child life services in the radiology and diagnostics department. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, watching movies, and spending time at the beach with her husband and friends. A fun fact about Melody is that due to playing the flute growing up, she is an EXCEPTIONAL whistler!!

Emily Bradley, MA, CCLS
Nemours Children Hospital
Emily is in her second term as secretary of FACLP. She works at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando as the child life team lead, while also covering the acute care and inpatient rehab units. A fun fact about Emily is that despite her role in working with patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, Emily has never broken a bone or needed stitches- EVER!


Tanya Prete, CCLS
Tidewell Hospice

Tanya works in the hospice field, providing child life support to pediatric hospice patients, children of adult patients, and oversees Tidewell’s PIC program. As the new treasurer, Tanya is looking forward to increasing her contribution to the FACLP community and how this new role will challenge her professionally. Tanya enjoys camping with her family in her free time- a love of the outdoors that included her getting married on a kayak!

Kristin Brown, BS, CCLS
Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida
Kristin is comg on as FACLP’s new social media content and website communications coordinator. Orginally from Missouri, you can find Kristin spending as much  time outside enjoying Florida’s endless summer. Kristin is in her 4th year providing child life services in the pediatric sedation center at Golisano Children’s in Fort Myers. One of Kristin’s favorite experiences as a CCLS has been designing and directing the building of sensory rooms at hospitals in Indiana and Florida.

Development Coordinator
Karlyn Crawford, MS, CCLS
St. Joseph’s Children Hospital
Karlyn is in her second term as FACLP’s Development Coordinator. She works in the outpatient day hospital at St. Joseph’s in Tampa. In her free time you can find Karlyn playing with her sweet rescue pup, Teddy, or visiting farmers markets with her husband to try new local foods and shop for homemade gifts.

Summer Bernath, CCLS
Advent Health
Summer works within the Advent Health System in Orlando where she just transitioned out of the NICU and into her new role as volunteer coordinator for the women’s and children’s hospitals. Outside of the hospital Summer has a passion for lifestyle photography and even runs her own small business for fun!
Serving as FACLP’s past president, Summer’s role will focus on our student population, as well as supporting our new president, Kirsten Black.

Natalie Whitehead

Natalie is the new student-at-large member of FACLP’s executive board. She is a senior at Mississippi State University,  majoring in child life. As the student member, Natalie is looking forward to finding new ways to bridge the gap between students, incoming professionals, and established child life professionals. When needing a break from school and extracurricular activities, Natalie loves spending time with her two dogs, Lucy and Harley.
