|Melody Harris, CCLS
Melody Harris has the privilege of serving as this year’s FACLP President. Melody has over 10 years of experience in Child Life, having worked throughout the field in areas like the emergency department, PICU, general pediatrics, radiology and in community settings. She recently stepped down from her clinical role at Studer Family Children’s Hospital to take on the dream job of full-time mama! Melody is a proud graduate of the University of Georgia and completed her internship at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.

|Hayley Wells, CCLS
Nicklaus Children’s Hospital
After serving 3 years on FACLPs Hospitality Committee, Hayley is excited for her role on the Executive Board as President-Elect. Hayley works in the Emergency Department at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami. When she is not supporting patients during a trauma or prepping them for a laceration repair she enjoys unwinding with her family and friends. You can also find her at her happy places which are anywhere near the water or at Disney.

|Erin Egan, CCLS
Nicklaus Children’s Hospital
Erin is coming on as our new secretary! Erin is a CCLS in the Emergency Department at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, FL. At work, Erin particularly enjoys working with students and trauma patients. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and finding a city’s best French fries. A fun fact about Erin is that she holds dual citizenship!
Tanya Prete, CCLS
This will be Tanya’s second term as Treasurer! Tanya Prete has worked at Tidewell Hospice for almost 14 years. She oversees the PIC program and provides child life services to pediatric hospice and palliative care patients as well as consults for children of adult patients. She also helped to start a peer support bereavement center within her organization. In her free time, Tanya loves finding adventures with her family and traveling. They enjoy camping, kayaking, biking, and anything beach or water related.
|Maria Mandese, MS, CCLS
Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children
Maria is coming on as FACLP’s new social media content and website communications coordinator! Originally from Florida, Maria never thought she would land a child life job where she grew up in Orlando! She has an immense passion for child life and works on the Acute Peds units while covering other areas throughout the week as well. She has her Masters in Child Life from Bankstreet College of Education and completed her internship all the way up in New York! She truly enjoys helping others, bringing smiles and laughs but also preaches to take care of yourself first—self-care is not selfish! She loves working out, cooking/baking, being outside, eating breakfast foods and spending time with family and friends! She’s excited to take on this new role and showcase FACLP in a fun and enticing away across all social media platforms!

|Nicole Boik, CCLS
Nicole has been a CCLS for 3 years! She worked in radiation oncology in Miami prior to moving to southeastern Alabama earlier this year. She has a few different child life-related passions that she is currently working on, but her main job right now is being a mom to her 4 month old! A fun fact about Nicole is that she has been on over 20 carnival cruises in her life- perks of growing up in Florida!

|Kirsten Black, MS, CCLS, CPMT
Holmes Regional Medical Center
Kirsten works at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL (Pediatric Emergency Department with consultations for Peds Inpatient) and has Masters in Child Life from University of La Verne. Kirsten is looking forward to developing more educational opportunities and increasing member support as Past President and working with our Student Member at Large to support our up and coming child life professionals. Kirsten’s favorite interventions are Bibliotherapy and Medical Play and her favorite distraction tool are bubbles. Fun fact: She is a HUGE sports fan and in undergrad at the University of Kentucky, she had the most coveted job on campus as a desk clerk for Wildcat Lodge, the men’s basketball residence hall.
Serving as FACLP’s past president, Kirsten’s role will focus on our student population, as well as supporting our new president, Kirsten Black.
Krizia is currently in the last semester of her master’s degree at NSU with a concentration in child life. She also had the privilege of completing a practicum with Advent Health for Children. A few things she loves include her family, friends, her dog named Louie, all things child life & Gilmore Girls. She is excited to connect with child life students & help in any way she can!
