Purpose and Mission

The Florida Association of Child Life Professionals (FACLP) was formed in 1991, by a group of purposeful individuals who seek to foster and promote health and well-being of all children and their families.  Child life professionals use developmentally-appropriate interventions in both traditional and non-traditional health care settings. FACLP strives to educate health care providers, hospital administrators and community organizations about the ever-growing child life profession, and equips child life specialist with ongoing education based on research and evidence-based practice. Over the years FACLP has continued to grow not only within the sunshine state and beyond.  A yearly conference is held, where members and non-members can continue to educate and grow from each other in this amazing profession. FACLP extends membership to anyone seeking knowledge about the profession.
